Support and resources to promote and sustain health among nurses and midwives in the workplace: A qualitative study

Registered nurses and midwives are in short supply have among the highest rates of sick leave global workforce. The aim this study was therefore to explore gain a deeper understanding how experience their everyday work, with view toward promoting sustaining work-related health. Nine registered four working hospitals community healthcare facilities Sweden were interviewed. interviews analyzed using content analysis. This is reported accordance COREQ. One main category emerged: ‘Quality organizational collegial support opportunities facilitate recovery, health, patient care’. From category, generic categories describing overall experiences could be discerned. Based on these results, it recommended that employers adopt systematic health-promotive approach foster maintain workplace health midwives.
